Founded on II Chronicles 5:11-14, the Worship Ministry exists to help lead the First Family into an authentic encounter with Jesus Christ. There are many opportunities for those gifted in the arts to participate in this ministry:

 

 

 

For those who play an instrument, you are invited to join the JFBC Orchestra. This instrumental group is comprised of Students and Adults. The Orchestra rehearses every Sunday morning at 8:15, and plays at our 10:15 service.

Each Wednesday night, during the school year, at 5:30 children ages 3-6th graders gather for a fun time of worship, music and games. Lead by a wonderful team of loving and caring and nurturing adults, our children are lead to gain a new appreciation for music and how it can help us worship the Lord, Jesus Christ. A snack supper is served at 5:00 in the Fellowship Hall for those who don’t have time to go home before choir begins. (These choirs normally do not meet during the summer months while school is out, but we have other activities for our children during this time.)

This team is comprised of teens and adults. These folks are involved in one of our most critical ministries at First Baptist. They run the equipment that keeps this ministry afloat. Some of the opportunities to serve are in the following areas: Sound, Lighting, Computer, Online Streaming Ministry. This is the team that works behind the scenes to help reach the lost and unchurched, as well as facilitate the worship of the First Family.

We have an active handbell choir that plays for special occasions throughout the year. You will hear them ringing in the foyer in the month of December.

In March 2024, the JFBC Handbell Choir and the Mt. Vernon Handbell Choir met together for a Handbell Workshop. Here are some photos of a great time of fellowship and learning for the two handbell groups.
